Software and Hardware development for Connected Airfryer Appliance

Philips HD9875 model represents a new design of kitchen appliance within the Philips Connected Airfryer portfolio, which combines a heater, variable fan speed and interactive display interface for better user experience.

Its main feature is its integration with the “Philips HomeID” mobile application and the possibility of remote controlling the cooking processes, as well as several “smart” cooking options driven by advanced algorithms, adjusting cooking parameters based on the food quantity and wanted doneness level, defined by the user.

To support all those features, our Engineering team worked tirelessly on Hardware and Firmware development, extensive testing cycles, collaborating with Cloud and Mobile development teams, and later providing product support and maintenance through Over-the-air Firmware updates years after the product was released to the market.

Key Outcomes for Philips

The Airfryer product was successfully developed and produced in tens of thousands of pieces, being sold in multiple countries, bringing “smart” features to lots of kitchens worldwide.

It successfully integrates app connectivity, allowing users to control, monitor, and receive cooking notifications directly from their smartphones.

The connectivity part of the system allows our clients to efficiently track user feedback and constantly improve their services and products, as well as their customer experience.

“Byte Lab team played an important role in bringing our connected Airfryer to life. The reliability of your work enabled smooth integration with our cloud and mobile app teams.”
